Over the past weekend Adidas and Size? Held a small exhibition in the old Granada studios showcasing the best and most rare works they have put together over the past 8 years. With 1/500 city series being the focal point of the room. It was great to see the amount of work both parties had put in over the years to create and recreate some of the most loved Adidas in recent times.

On Friday the 5th however there was an invite only preview to the event, with a DJ set and surprise set from Billy Ryder-Jones, which was a great addition to the evening. Below are some snapshots of the event.

After your name was ticked off you entered to receive several free beer tokens, provided by a local Manchester brewery, this helped time pass before the Billy Ryder-Jones took to the stage. The main room, had posters previous and current from size? And Adidas archive shoes suspended and had a small story explaining the event as a whole. Into the ‘trainer room’, being every Adidas fans dream. Wall to wall (literally) Adidas, from the upcoming Athens to the ZX 500. There was just about everything. This really did tie together a near decade relationship perfectly.

There was a small case to the left of the room, with some of the more sought after reissues and creations by Adidas, with my all time favourite the ZX 8000. As well as the very popular Trimm Star and Trimm Trab. Although the main attractions of the event were the city series, in there own individual boxes, along side the original booklet. In my opinion the city series 1/500 were the set of shoes that really put size? On the map in many cases as for me I hadn’t really heard of them until then.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without Mundial Magazine who put the event together with help from the Adidas Archive and Size? They did a brilliant job of putting it all together, check out the link below to see a recap of the event.
